The "Red Room"

theredroom.jpg

You may be shocked to learn that we refer to this work room as the "Red Room." This is a quiet space where the "business of operations" takes place day to day. The wood you see is the actual basketball court from the Michigan State Fairgrounds in Detroit, with the court paint still on the hardwood. It is one inch thick hardwood maple. There were only two basketball games ever played on this regulation basketball court in 21 years - then we bought a chunk of it from a good friend (Jason from the Detroit School of Rock and Pop), who bought it from the State. We used it to construct our built-in office cubicles. It is truly unique. Note the orange and blue. At a modest $5 per square foot (for really lower end wood), this 8500SF court is worth about $42,500. As you may have guessed, we paid significantly less.
